Gardaí investigating the death of a man whose body was discovered in a collection truck at a waste recycling facility last Friday are seeking the public’s help in identifying his last movements.

The dead man has been identified at Henryk Piotrowski, a Polish national aged 43. Gardaí have made contact with the man's family in Poland.

The truck in which the body was found had collected recycling bins from the centre of Dublin City. It had collected the contents of 55 bins, 30 of which were the larger 1,100-litre bins.

Gardaí believe Mr Piotrowski was in the Dame Street area between 7pm and 10pm on Thursday 22nd. There were also sightings on the South Quays in the Wood Quay/Merchant’s Quay area in the early hours of Friday 23rd.

The facility where the man’s body was found is on Ballymount Road in Dublin 24 and is owned by the Panda refuse and recycling company.

Mr Piotrowski was carrying identification papers on his person when his body was discovered.
