Racing: Aidan O'Brien gave his strongest indication yet that Soldier Of Fortune will not run in the St Leger.
Friendless in the market for the Doncaster Classic, the Irish Derby winner could instead travel to France to take up his next assignment.
Ballydoyle stablemate Honolulu is currently the well-supported favourite for the St Leger on September 15.
O'Brien told the Racing Post: "While we are not completely shutting the door on Soldier Of Fortune running in the St Leger, there are other options for him and we might look at one of the Arc trials in France for his next race.
"At this stage, I would say that our St Leger team will come from Honolulu, Mahler, Macarthur and Acapulco. How many of them run won't be decided until much nearer the race."
