In yesterday's report of 134 lay-offs by Alps Electric Ireland, it was reported the Millstreet-based firm had lost a Scottish contract to modify keyboards when its Scottish client decided to set up its own operation. Alps Electric Ireland yesterday said the company set up to modify the keyboards in Scotland was an Alps Electric Ireland subsidiary and was managed by staff from its Millstreet plant.
