A Luas tram and a car were involved in a collision this afternoon at the junction of Mary Street and Capel Street.
The incident happened at around 4.15 p.m. when a car went into the path of an oncoming tram. There was superficial damage to both vehicles.
Full service on the Red Line has now resumed although passengers may experience slight delays as a result of the crash. This is the second incident involving a tram on the Tallaght to Connolly line in as many days.
Yesterday, a car and a tram were involved in an accident in the Smithfield area of Dublin. The tram was on a test run at the time and suffered minor damage. Nobody was injured.
