Three men arrested in connection with the Garda investigation into the so-called gangland killings of two men in Dublin last November have been released without charge.
The men were arrested yesterday and were held at Rathfarnham and Tallaght Garda stations in Dublin under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
A Garda statement said a file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The men, aged 28, 35 and 38, were questioned in connection with the murders of Darren Geoghegan and Gavin Byrne, who were shot dead at Firhouse in south Dublin on November 13th 2005.
A large number of searches were carried out by investigating gardaí and the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) under the Mutual Assistance Programme.
Arrests were also made in Northern Ireland yesterday.
