Environment Minister Arlene Foster has confirmed that planning approval for the largest property development in the North's history has been granted.
She said permission for the go-ahead for the second phase of the Titanic Quarter in Belfast's large and largely derelict shipbuilding yard was a "major confidence boost".
She said the scheme, which will include provision of 2,000 homes, business space and a tourist and cultural Titanic project, would be a major boost for the city. "[ It] is a further indication that Northern Ireland is leaving its troubled past behind."
Project chief executive Mike Smith said 20,000 jobs would be created over 15 years.
