Gardaí in Limerick confirmed this evening that a house, understood to be operating as a call centre for prostitution, was raided on Saturday last.

Two people were arrested and a number of items seized including an estimated €20,000 in cash. The man and the woman arrested were later released without charge. A Garda spokesman said a file has been sent to the DPP.

He said the raid was part of a wider operation in the Limerick area investigating a nationwide prostitution syndicate.
