Two men from Derry have been arrested on suspicion of endangering an aircraft after an air-hostess was assaulted, police said today.

The men, aged 31 and 32, were on an easyJet Belfast to Liverpool flight last night.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: "Two men became obstructive and assaulted a female member of cabin crew.

"The pilot requested police assistance and two men were arrested on landing at John Lennon airport."

The men were detained overnight and will be questioned later today.
