Two detained over bank robbery

Gardaí are continuing to question two men in connection with a bank robbery which took place in Dublin yesterday.

The robbery happened at the Ulster Bank branch on Camden Street at around 11.30am when two men entered the premises and threatened staff.

They fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a 07D-registered Ford Fiesta which was later found abandoned near Portobello Bridge.

Later, gardaí said two 41-year-old men were arrested in the Rialto and Basin Street areas and detained at Harcourt Terrace and Kevin Street Garda stations.

A Garda spokesman said no money had yet been recovered.
