Two drivers have lost their lives in separate collisions involving lorries since Thursday evening.
A lorry driver was killed when his vehicle collided with another truck in Co Westmeath yesterday.
The 61-year-old died following the crash on the Castlepollard to Mullingar road at Crookedwood shortly before 10am.
The second driver was not injured.
On Thursday evening, a 59-year-old woman died following a collision between her car and a lorry in Co Meath.
Gardaí at Dunshaughlin station are investigating the incident, which happened at Rathregan, Batterstown, shortly after 7pm.
The motorist died later at Blanchardstown Hospital in Dublin.
The lorry driver escaped injury.
The latest fatalities take the death toll on the Republic's roads to 234 so far this year.
Of those, 111 were drivers, 59 passengers, 40 pedestrians, 19 motorcyclists, four pedal cyclists and one motorcycle pillion passenger.
Thirty-three people have been killed on the roads so far this month.
