Two teenagers rescued off Wicklow coast

Boys were airlifted off rocks near Greystones by Coast Guard helicopter this afternoon

Two teenagers were rescued off the coast of Wicklow today after they got into difficulty near Greystones.

The boys, aged 13 and 14, became stranded on rocks when the tide came in.

One boy suffered back injuries and was removed by air ambulance to Tallaght Hospital. The other boy was rescued by the Coast Guard and driven to Tallaght Hospital.

A Garda spokeswoman said their injuries are not thought to be serious.
