A rocket launcher and warhead were discovered by police in west Belfast last night, the Police Service of Northern Ireland said.
The weapons were found by officers investigating dissident republican activity in the city.
They were discovered while police were searching a house on Hawthorn Street.
A number of homes were evacuated following the find.
A PSNI spokesman said the rocket launcher and warhead were intended to be used to kill.
