Ottawa - The risk of health damage is increased by working more than 40 hours a week, as people tend to put on weight and increase their tobacco and alcohol intake, according to figures released by Statistics Canada yesterday.
Comparing the figures compiled in the 1994-1995 period with those from the 1996-1997 period, Statistics Canada said people who in two years went from working a normal week - between 35 to 40 hours - to a more prolonged working week - 41 hours and above - increased the risk of damage to their health. --(AFP)
