A helping hand

Sir, – On Thursday evening last week I caught the 46A bus near Appian Way in Dublin at 5.40pm.

The bus was crowded and I used my walking stick for support. The bus driver told me to stand by his cabin and hold on.

He asked me where I was going and I told him to the National Gallery of Ireland. When the bus stopped in Nassau Street the driver told me to wait.

He got off the bus and took my arm and led me across the street.
