Sir, – Mary Hannigan is spot-on when she writes that Eamon Dunphy was "one of a kind" ("Eamon Dunphy was showbiz, baby, and now we could die of boredom", Sport, July 25th).
His analysis of football was often colourful and unexpected. My wife and I still laugh at the memory of him insisting that Liverpool had beaten Marseille 4-0 away in a 2007 Champions League game because they were “more virile” than the French team.
Good luck, Eamo, but not farewell. I’ll certainly be tuning into the podcast from time to time. – Yours, etc,
