Sir, – There have been no letters or comment this week about Waterford, the winner of your “Best place to live in Ireland” award (Magazine, Saturday 24th).
It seems that the people of Waterford city know when they are on to a good thing. Some of the best-kept lifestyle secrets are there. For God’s sake keep quiet about it.
On the other hand, keeping quiet is not always the best thing.
Waterford parents must not encourage their children to do well in the Leaving Cert as there is no broad-spectrum university within commuting distance. Now or in the future.
And, if you decide to have a heart attack, you must do so on a weekday during daytime working hours, to avoid inconveniencing HSE South. For God’s sake keep quiet about it.
Living is not only about now; it’s also about the future.
