Tom Mullins is looking forward to getting Asian Maze back into action after her disappointing showing in the Hatton's Grace Hurdle.

The mare had run a sound race on her seasonal debut behind Iktitaf in the Morgiana Hurdle and was expected to push Brave Inca hard at Fairyhouse.

However, a combination of a hard race in the Morgiana and the very soft ground contributed to her finishing a dismal fourth of five.

"First and foremost she is extremely well in herself and at the moment the Champion Hurdle is still the plan. We hope to get another run or two into her before the Champion (Hurdle)," said Mullins.

"We think it was her run in the Morgiana that was her undoing in the Hatton's Grace. I felt that we had to run her in the Morgiana to get her right for the Hatton's . . . but it just worked against us.

"They jumped out that day very quick and it was very bad ground. Even though Ruby (Walsh) wasn't that hard on her I think it was a bit of a shock to the system for her as she hadn't raced for eight months.

"We just have to get the Hatton's Grace out of her mind and get her back where there is going to be some nice decent ground, she won't run unless there is a good bit of ground somewhere.

"If she gets to the Champion Hurdle and she is in one piece and she is fit and well, I don't care what is in it, she will put it up to anyone.

"If she is well on the day and she gets a nice piece of ground I can't see her being out of the first three."
