Ireland wrapped up a series victory over Papua New Guinea with a seven-run win in a rain-affected second Twenty20 international at Townsville.
In a match reduced to 11 overs per side, William Porterfield hit a 15-ball 30 and Stuart Poynter scored 35 off 24 deliveries as Ireland posted 96 for five.
Papua New Guinea were on course for victory on 30 for one in the fourth over but Max Sorensen and George Dockrell took three wickets apiece and Andy McBrine claimed two in an over to ruthlessly end their hopes.
Norman Vanua sparked a recovery with two sixes in an unbeaten 26 but Papua New Guinea fell short on 89 for nine.
The third and final T20I will take place at the same venue on Tuesday.
