England captain Steven Gerrard and defender Kyle Walker are to miss Friday's international friendly with Chile at Wembley.
Gerrard is nursing a hip problem while Walker also has an injury which prevented him from training with the rest of the England squad on Wednesday morning.
Whether or not the pair will face Germany at Wembley next Tuesday remains to be seen.
Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge sat out training on Wednesday because of a foot injury.
He, along with Gerrard and Walker, took part in gym work, though, so he may feature against Chile on Friday.
Frank Lampard, who will now captain England on Friday in Gerrard's absence, took part in training even though he has a mild cold.
