The FAI has confirmed that Ireland’s qualifier against Germany will be in the Veltins Stadium, Gelsenkirchen, the home of Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04, on October 14th.

The venue is adjacent to the old Parkstadion where the Netherlands beat Ireland 1-0 in the final round of group games at Euro’88, courtesy of Wim Kieft’s header.
