The Irish Accountancy Awards take a significant place within the Irish accountancy sector as a national recognition platform for firms, teams and individuals who strive to attain the highest standards of professionalism, service, and customer satisfaction.

Since their inception in 2016, the Irish Accountancy Awards have witnessed an impressive growth in both scale and commitment from the sector, both nationally and internationally.

With recent global events and their huge societal impact, now more than ever accountants across the country play an essential role in the continued operation of innumerable businesses and industries.

Annually, well over 50 entrants send close to 100 submissions to compete across the Awards’ 24 prestigious categories. Once the finalists are made public, winners are announced at a lavish gala ceremony, which this year takes place on September 1st at The Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, Dublin.

And for every accountancy practice that goes above and beyond in an effort to support Irish business and industry, there are organisations that in turn support them by providing essential services and insights.

One such organisation is Sage, which maintains its steadfast support for the event and returns as Title Sponsor to the Irish Accountancy Awards. Sage has shown immense support to accountants throughout the pandemic and its befitting of them to continue demonstrating this at the Accountancy Awards for 2022.

Speaking on the announcement of the Sponsorship for 2022, Grant Picknell, vice-president of accountant segment at Sage, said: “We are so proud to be the headline sponsors for the 2022 Accountancy Awards. They are a prestigious milestone in the Irish industry calendar, recognising and celebrating excellence in the accountancy profession in Ireland over the past year, and it is with great honour that Sage is sponsoring this year’s ceremony.”

Sage provides an essential service for the millions of small and mid-sized businesses along with their partners and accountants. Offering accounting, financial, HR and payroll services, Sage is trusted by its customers to make work and money flow.

Sage’s network connects SMBs, removing friction and delivering insights. They also use their time, technology and experience to tackle digital inequality, economic inequality and the climate crisis.

Speaking of the continued support from Sage, Awards chief executive Eugene Bortolozzo commented: “The Irish Accountancy Awards are lucky to have significant support from within the profession. Having an organisation like Sage is an extremely important part of the event and we now look forward to a positive and eagerly anticipated gala awards night in September.”

The Irish Accountancy Awards are devised and organised by BusinessRiver, which engages with 30 business communities, sectors, sub-sectors and professions by giving them a platform to showcase the exceptional standards being reached across Irish business.
