German sportswear group, Adidas-Salomon yesterday announced record first-quarter results, including contributions from newly-acquired Salomon, and forecast further growth in sales this year.

"Adidas-Salomon expects continuing high growth for the remainder of the year. These expectations are based on the current order situation," the group said in a statement.

Adidas-Salomon said first-quarter sales rose 58.1 per cent to 2,708 million deutschmarks.
