Profits at organic yogurt maker Glenisk increased more than fourfold last year to €700,337.
In the most successful year to date for the Offaly-based, family-run firm, profits before tax jumped by 353 per cent after revenue increased by 20 per cent from €14.08 million to €16.94 million.
The company was established in 1987 and will make more than 50 million servings of yogurt in 2013. Director Vincent Cleary said yesterday that Glenisk experienced strong growth during 2012 and now has 12 per cent of the domestic yogurt market – up for 4 per cent in 2008.The company added 10 new roles to increase its workforce to 60 people, while the business also supports 50 organic farmers.
