The AIB Start-up Academy is an intensive eight week training programme run by Irish Times Training with a tailored focus on driving start-up companies. On Monday, March 2nd, all 11 finalists entered their sixth week of modules with a day-long session on social media. The finalists were introduced to social media by this week’s coaches Felicity McCarthy (Irish Times Training and Spark Digital) and Conor Pope (Irish Times journalist). The module covered how to build the visibility, reputation and profits of your business online using Facebook and Twitter. Participants looked at how global businesses use Facebook and Twitter effectively to enhance customer service, attract more business and boost bottom line profits. The next module will cover eCommerce (taking place on Monday, March 9th). Coaches Vinnie O’Brien (Irish Times Training) and Joan Mulvihill (CEO at Irish Internet Association) will lead this module.
