AltaVista, one of the Internet's first search engines, introduced a dedicated Irish search engine yesterday at www.altavista.ie.
It has indexed more than 1.3 million Irish web pages and is part of Altavista's attempt to become the world's largest search engine outside the US. Users of the Irish version will also be able to access the worldwide AltaVista site.
