Around 50 jobs are to go in Belfast as a company that makes cigarette packets for Gallahers prepares to close. The North's Industrial Development Board regretted the job losses but the Australian-owned Amcor Rentsch had been working in difficult market conditions. The IDB invested almost £1 million sterling (€1.7 million) in the company three years ago.
