Online auction site, Ebid.ie, claims to have signed up 40,000 registered users, representing some 6 per cent of the market, after seven months in business.
The total value of successful auctions is valued at £1.5 million. Auctions were free for the first six months of operation but in mid-June the company charged commission of between 0.5 per and 5 per cent.
