THE CENTRAL Bank has appointed Jonathan McMahon as assistant director general with responsibility for the supervision of financial institutions.
Under the post, Mr McMahon will report to the head of financial regulation, Matthew Elderfield.
Mr McMahon joins the Central Bank from the international consulting firm Promontory Financial Group, where he is a director, based in London.
Mr McMahon headed Promontory’s assistance to the UK National Audit Office on its reviews into the UK government’s handling of the financial crisis.
Prior to joining Promontory in 2007, Mr McMahon worked at Deloitte Touche and the UK’s Financial Services Authority.
