The upcoming sale of a 14-acre site on the outskirts of Carlow town should attract interest from parties involved in the delivery of housing. The lands, which are zoned predominantly for residential development, are being offered to the market by way of public tender at 12pm on Thursday, May 12th, by agent Coonan at a guide price of €2 million.
Situated 2km south of Carlow’s town centre, the subject site at Crosneen comprises 10 acres designated for housing and four acres zoned for open space and amenity. The lands in question have significant road frontage along the Leighlin Road which cuts through the border between counties Laois and Carlow.
While Carlow town is a thriving location in its own right, it is now also an established part of the capital’s commuter belt thanks to its position just off the M9 motorway. Both Dublin city centre and Dublin Airport can be reached by car in just over an hour. There are good rail services in the area as Carlow is on the Dublin-Carlow-Waterford line, while a number of Bus Éireann and private bus routes operate to Dublin and other towns. The town of Rosslare is an hour and 20 minutes away on the N80, giving easy access to Rosslare Europort.
