ShoppingCentres: Dundrum Town Centre looks set to have the most interesting line-up of tenants of any of Dublin's shopping centres. Its latest coup involves leading international cosmetics retailer Molton Brown, which has completed contracts to open its first Irish outlet at Dundrum.

The multiple will be trading out of a unit of 67.3 sq m (725 sq ft) at a rent of €85,000 per annum. It will adjoin House of Fraser, one of the anchors in the €250 million centre which is due to open for business early next year.

The recent letting leaves only about seven fashion stores available but as in its earlier marketing campaign, developer Castlethorn will be pitching these mainly at European traders rather than settling for a repetition of the line-up in most other Dublin shopping centres.

Kevin Sweeney of ATIS Harrington Bannon said that Molton Brown's arrival in Ireland provides further evidence of Dundrum's ability to attract top international retail names.

Molton Brown currently trades in 14 stand-alone stores in the UK and others in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. It also operates 30 concessions worldwide including Harrods, Selfridges, House of Fraser and John Lewis in the UK.

It is also represented at the famous Barneys department Store on Madison Avenue in New York and is apparently due to open outlets in Bloomingdales and Saks.

Its European expansion strategy involves opening concessions in Les Galeries Lafayette and Printemps in France and also in stores in Germany and Italy.
