Shopping CentresBlanchardstown Shopping Centre, which has won the Crest Irish Shopping Centre of the Year award, has announced a number of store expansions and new traders for the centre.
Ireland's largest centre opened in 1996 and comprises 116,128sq m (1.25m sq ft) of space. Owner Green Property is currently developing its third retail park on an 110-acre site outside the main centre. The over 9,290sq m (100,000sq ft) centre is to open in early 2007.
This latest development will be anchored by US retailer, TK Maxx, which already has a unit in Blanchardstown; it exchanged leases last week on a new 4,645sq m (50,000sq ft) store.
The full line-up will be announced shortly.
Meanwhile, Swedish fashion chain H&M has started fitting out a newly extended 1,486sq m (16,000sq ft) unit which was formerly occupied by Next.
River Island is also extending, taking an extra 790sq m (8,500sq ft), bringing its store up to 1,533sq m (16,500sq ft).
Last week, Penneys opened its newly extended 8,825sq m (95,000sq ft) store and Debenhams, new to Blanchardstown, has completed rebranding the department store acquired from Roches Stores.
Other new names at Blanchardtown include Stenders Soaps and Chinese herbal medicine retailer, Tai-Ji, both opening their first Irish outlets. Carphone Warehouse has also recently opened a new store there. Joint letting agents are HWBC and Jones Lang LaSalle.
