The acute shortage of new homes in the greater Dublin area is expect to trigger an early sale of a ready-to-go site with planning permission for 60 houses at Rathcoole, Co Dublin.

Will Coonan of REA Coonan is guiding €5.25 million for the well-located site extending to 1.87 hectares (4.6 acres) which is to be sold by tender on February 17th.

The guide price will work out at €87,500 per unit.

The planning permission provides for the demolition of an existing house on the site and its replacement by 36 townhouses, 22 semi-detached homes and two detached units. The planning consent came through last December.

The residential development will be within easy walking distance of national and secondary schools in Rathcoole, a popular residential village about 16km outside of Dublin city centre.
