This is the 14th year of the Business Journalist Awards, which are run in conjunction with the Business Journalist Association of Ireland (BJAI). The awards are adjudicated by an independent panel of judges comprising business, journalism and academic leaders.
The Business Post received seven nominations across four categories, with the Currency receiving four nominations in three categories. The Journal and Noteworthy picked up one nomination each, as did Newstalk, RTÉ, the Sunday Independent and the Irish Independent.
A total of 21 journalists were shortlisted across the six categories. Each category winner will receive a €1,000 cash prize, with the awards taking place in a virtual ceremony on December 13th.
An Outstanding Achievement award will also be presented, honouring a journalist who has helped to enhance the understanding of business in Ireland and inspired others. A new Outstanding Achievement in Industry Award will also recognise an organisation that has significantly impacted business journalism in Ireland.
