Paul Brown has been named as chief executive of construction company John Sisk & Sons in place of Steve Bowcott, who is stepping down after 6½ years in the role.

Mr Brown is currently chief operating officer for the group’s UK construction business and for the civil engineering business.

“I am honoured to lead our business into the next phase of its development, building on Steve’s great work and that of my colleagues,” said Mr Brown.

Chairman Gary McGann welcomed Mr Brown’s appointment and paid tribute to Mr Bowcott.

“We are very grateful for Steve’s commitment and his service to Sisk since his appointment in 2015 and as his term comes to an end, the board believes that Paul has the skills and qualities to continue to deliver our progressive strategy as the leading Irish construction company,” Mr McGann added.

Sicon Ltd, the holding company for Sisk, reported operating profit of €21 million and turnover of €1.5 billion last year.
