Cork-based software firm Qumas opened a new research and development centre yesterday and announced a further R&D investment of €4.4 million.

The investment, which is supported by Enterprise Ireland, will allow for the expansion of the R&D department and will lead to the creation of 40 jobs over the next two years. Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin said Qumas was an Irish company with a leadership position in the global market for enterprise compliance solutions. "Qumas's development of an R&D centre, together with a €4.4 million programme of R&D investment, will enable the company to develop customer solutions that respond to changing market demands," Mr Martin said. "With support from Enterprise Ireland's scaling division, Qumas has the potential for further strong growth in international markets."
