Oil and gas exploration company Dragon Oil has announced that Nigel McCue, senior independent non-executive director, is to step down from the board, effective today, March 25th.

Chairman of the board, Mohammed Al Ghurair, paid tribute to Mr McCue for his contribution to the growth of Dragon Oil through his "invaluable knowledge and many years of extensive experience of working in the oil and gas industry".

Mr McCue has served on the board of the company for more than 10 years, and Thor Haugnaess will temporarily assume his role as the board searches for an additional independent director.
