French low-cost airline Transavia will fly from Dublin to Paris-Orly Airport year-round beginning next summer.

The Air France and KLM-owned airline will begin flying the route on June 1st. It will be its first scheduled service to Ireland.

Dublin Airport managing director Vincent Harrison welcomed the news.

“Paris is a very popular destination for both business and leisure traffic from Ireland and France is also a major market for inbound tourism,” he said.

The route is one of 14 new services from Dublin announced for next year. Mr Harrison said the airport is looking forward to a strong 2015.

Transavia’s chief commercial officer Hervé Kozar said the airline would offer passengers excellent service and low fares.
