Insurance giant Aon is to create 30 jobs in Dublin as it makes a "significant" investment in its innovation and analytics centre.
The Aon Centre for Innovation and Analytics (ACIA), which opened in 2008, currently employs 100 people and provides advanced insurance research, analytics and business intelligence for Aon’s clients and its team. Clients in more than 120 countries benefit from the centre’s work.
The 30 roles will be filled by March, and are intended to bolster ACIA’s expertise in data warehousing, database management, application development, business intelligence and data visualisation. The new appointments will also help strengthen its data science function, in statistics, data modelling and predictive analytics.
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton welcomed the investment, describing it as a "major vote of confidence" in Ireland's reputation as a leading location for investment in innovation, analytics and technology.
Chief executive of the centre Constantin Beier said the investment demonstrated Aon's commitment to innovation and analytics.
“The calibre of our Dublin based team, our analytical tools and the nature of the insights that we share with clients across the globe is a real differentiator for Aon,” he said.
