Davy, the stockbroker and wealth manager, is continuing its senior hiring spree with the addition from the US of former UBS banker Alan Werlau as its senior investment strategist. He will link up once again with Brian O'Reilly, also formerly of UBS, who was hired by Davy in 2012 as its global investment strategist.
Werlau, a top adviser to wealthy private clients and corporate boards, started this week. Other recent Davy newbies include Chantal Brennan, formerly of PineBridge, Doug Gordon from Threadneedle, John Lydon from Deutsche Bank and a raft of senior board appointments.
Such a hiring spree makes Davy seem like Irish wealth management’s version of free-spending Manchester United, a comparison the firm would no doubt welcome.
So who in Davy thinks they are Louis Van Gaal?
