Germany plans to unveil a debt relief scheme for developing countries at a summit of the Group of Eight nations next month, Deputy Foreign Minister Mr Gunter Verheugen said yesterday after a meeting of European Union and Central American states.

Germany will host the summit from June 18th to 20th of the world's leading industrialised nations (G7) - main creditors to heavily indebted countries, predominantly in Africa and Latin America - plus Russia.
