An article in the 2nd September issue quoted circulation figures for both the broadsheet and compact versions of the Irish Independent as certified by the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC).

However, as the compact version of the newspaper launched part way through the January to June 2004 audit period, the circulation figures for each format should not have been combined for the purpose of a year on year comparison. ABC has asked that we confirm the Irish Independent's ABC total average circulation figures are as follows:
