IWP, the household products group, has announced the acquisition of A&AG, a cosmetics and personal care company based in Montreal, Canada, for $4.8 million (€5.5 million). There could be further payments based on an earn-out up to 2005.

The new business, said IWP, will be combined with the company's existing operation in Canada, Burlington Toiletries International, and "significantly enhances our strategic position in the North American market place". It also gives IWP "a solid platform on which to achieve growth and efficiencies".
