A leading Northern Ireland carpet firm has announced 95 job losses. Ulster Carpet Mills in Portadown, which manufactures high quality carpets to export all over the world, blamed the strength of sterling for the losses. Managing director Mr Mike Mills said the strength of sterling was making it difficult to compete effectively in overseas markets. Ulster Carpet Mills currently employs 700 people.
