Mr Peter Malone has been appointed the new chairman of Bord na Mona. Mr Malone holds positions in several Irish firms, including chairman of Hibernian Group Insurance and of Gunne (Property) Group. He is a non-executive director of Jury's Hotel Group and CPL Recruitment.

Making the announcement, the Minister for Public Enterprise, Ms O'Rourke, paid tribute to outgoing chairman Mr Pat Dineen. As chairman of the company for the past five years, Mr Dineen oversaw the conversion of Bord Na Mona from a statutory corporation to a public limited company.
