A year in the life of a wedding magazine is a rather different affair than it is for publications with more humdrum subject matters. Bash, Ireland's newest addition to the market, has done some counting on the occasion of its first birthday – or should that be paper anniversary? Its pages have to date, it says, featured 83 couples, 98 wedding cakes and 247 flower arrangements.
The honeymoon doesn't appear to be ending anytime soon. The fifth edition of the Image Publications title, billed as "a modern wedding magazine for a new wave of nuptials", is a chunky 276 pages, with no shortage of advertisers.
Among those taking out ad space are venues, gift registries, clothing companies, wedding fair organisers, cosmetics brands, bridal hairdressers, make-up artists, jewellers, florists, photographers, stationers, caterers, milliners, ceremony officiants, entertainers, sparkling wine sellers, lingerie vendors, skincare specialists, and pilates practitioners.
