After two years when the station has had no fashion series – Off the Rails bowed out after 15 years in 2012 – RTÉ Two has taken on trend-spotting maven Darren Kennedy to present #Trending, its new fashion show for autumn.
While Kennedy's CV includes fashion presenting on ITV, BBC and Channel 4 as well as RTÉ, a scant six-week run suggests there's an element of let's see how it goes about #Trending.
It’s got a broader brief than just fashion and will cover pop culture, street style, beauty, celebrity trends and red carpet hits and misses. L’Oréal has come on board – for an undisclosed sum – as sponsor.
The content does look similar to the always lively Xposé, TV3's five-nights a week fashion/celeb/pop culture offering. This year that show will be filmed live and a new presenter has been added to the roster: Peter O'Riordan, formerly of US celebrity gossip site TMZ.
He will join the regular line up of Karen Koster, Glenda Gilson, Lisa Cannon and Aisling O'Loughlin.
Xposé is sponsored by Cadbury in a two-year deal that runs until March 2015.
