The global communications company, Motorola, is to create another 103 jobs at its Cork-based software development plant as part of a global recruitment campaign to recruit 1,400 personnel. The filling of the software engineering positions will increase the numbers employed at the GSM systems division in Blackrock, Cork, to over 500. "In order to keep pace with the changes in this technology, our research and development needs are continuously increasing," Mr Tom Shirley Jnr of Motorola, Cork, said. Since the plant was built in 1981, over £23 million has been invested.
