The company which operates the KFC, Pizza Hut and Costa Coffee brands in Ireland recorded a 53 per cent increase in profits last year.
MBCC Foods (Ireland) posted pretax profits of just over €2.3 million for the year to January 31st, 2012, as compared to €1.5 million 2011.
According to accounts filed to the Companies Office, the company also expanded its staff numbers from 685 to 729, an increase reflected in wage bills rising to €9.6m for the year.
Turnover in 2012 amounted to nearly €38.8 million, up from almost €33.5m in 2011.
MBCC Foods began a 10-year master franchise of Costa Coffee in 2005, with a view to expanding its presence. The company’s principal shareholders are the Edinburgh-based brothers Raju and Sundeep Tuli.
