A company owned by a quantity surveyor from Ennis, Co Clare has been purchased for €10 million.
Tom McNamara and Partners, which has offices in Ballymaley Business Park, Ennis, and Lower Baggot Street, Dublin, has been acquired by Erinaceous Group, a property company quoted on the London Stock Exchange.
The purchase of the Irish business "provides an opportunity to [ Erinaceous] to extend its portfolio of property support services for the public and private sectors into the Irish market", Erinaceous said in a statement.
The group has a market capitalisation of more than €500 million. It provides a range of services related to the management, maintenance, procurement, design, construction and insurance of property in both the public and private sectors.
Mr McNamara (43), managing director of Tom McNamara and Partners, said: "We are delighted to be part of the Erinaceous Group, which will give us both financial strength and signficantly broaden the range of services we are able to extend to our present and future clients."
His cost and project management business was established in 1989 and is led by Mr McNamara and his co-directors John Kilroy and Kay Dawson.
