The Irish engineering and project management company DPS is to expand its operations in the United States with the establishment of a new headquarters for its Advanced Technology Group (ATG) in Albany, New York, a move that will involve a capital investment of $1 million (€943,930) and generate more than 50 highly skilled engineering positions.
DPS is partnering with the State University of New York Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly) for this latest expansion in the US. DPS chief executive Frank Keogh said: "We are delighted to be partnering with SUNY Poly for this venture and we are excited to be now located where New York's technology growth is taking place."
Mr Keogh added that over the next five years, DPS plans to double its presence in the high technology sector as a result of meeting the needs of companies in New York’s burgeoning technology sector. “By2021 we expect to have made a capital investment in excess of $1 million with more than $20 million for operations and a further $20 million in project-specific labour.
“A key reason to locate on the SUNY campus is the plan to develop and provide a training curriculum for SUNY Poly students to support our workforce needs. DPS employees will be encouraged to obtain continuing education by utilising SUNY Poly’s world-class educational offerings,” Mr Keogh added.
